Will they take my car or will I go to jail for not being able to pay back a credit card company because myself and my husband are on SS DI?
Question Details: My husband and I are on SS DI. We have nothing in the bank but our SS DI checks. We live in low income housing. I own a 2006 car. It is paid for and in my name only. I recently had to take a $10,000 cash advance out from my credit card which is in my name only. I owed some one money. I am over my head and can not make any payments. Will they take my car since it is the only asset I have. I did claim Bankruptcy 91/2 years ago before we became disabled.
They could try to take your car if it is worth to them. Many times, it's not.
Not being able to pay your credit card is not a criminal offense. You won't go to jail.
