In your state (Mississippi), the statute of limitations for anything involving the provision of medical care (e.g. medical malpractice) is two years from the earlier of the date of the care or the date by which, given reasonable diligence (e.g. effort; analysis) the injured party would have discovered the harm.
However, if you are suing for a family member's death, this would be wrongful death claim and fall under the three-year worngful death statute of limitations.
