IF this truly was a theft--and to prove that, you have to have filed a police report for theft and be willing to press charges against the thief, if he or she is caught--then you are not liable for any accidents he or she got into. The owner of a car is only liable for accidents of those whom he or she allows or permits to use his or her car; if a car is stolen and taken without permission, there is no liability, since the thief had no permission (and also  because as a general matter, person 1 is not responsible for the criminal acts of person 2, unless 1 participated in, assisted, etc. those acts).
