Is employer responsible for any medical costs for an injury that occurred during a work party?
My 19 year old son broke his ankle, playing football, at a work party. The party was held at a cabin owned by one of the managers. He had 2 surgeries to repair the ankle. He was unable to work for several months because of the break. Just wondering of the business is liable for any of the costs?

With the facts you have given, no, your son's employer would not be legally responsible for any injuries your son suffered at the party. Employers are only responsible for injuries to their employees when their employees are within the normal course and scope of their employment. A work party is not generally considered the normal scope of employment. One option you might have is a claim with the cabin owner's homeowner's insurance policy. It is dependent upon the policy whether or not this type of injury would be covered.
