Liability coverage for the leased vehicle should cover against injuries to third parties (other people) or damage to *other* vehicles or property (not the car you are driving). You could face liability for damage to the leased vehicle itself (i.e. the cost to repair, or the value of the car if it is totalled); and would have no coverage for your own injuries or damage to your own belongings. In addition, you only have what and as much coverage as that liability policy provides, so if it has low limits, you could be personally liable for any amounts exceeding its limits.
