If you get cited for a no insurance ticket for someone else's car, are you still at fault although it is not your car?
I was cited a ticket for no insurance on a car that was not mine and did not know the insurance was expired. Although the car is not mine or registered in my name is there anything, I can do about the ticket. I cannot provide financial responsibility for the vehicle because it is not mine but the vehicle I drive is insured.
The first thing you need to do is call your insurance representative to determine whether or no under your own policy of insurance for your car if you would be covered for liability if you drove some one else's vehicle even though that car had no insurance. If so, then that would be the defense to the no insurance ticket that you received for driving a car that did not have its own insurance policy because your own policy would have provided coverage.
In your situation about the car driven without having an actual policy of insurance placed on it, the registered owner of it should have been cited, not you in my opinion.
