If I was a witness to an accident and have now received a subpoena to appear in court, am I legally obligated to go?

Question Details: I witnessed an auto accident that I was not involved in. I gave my report to the police and have since received a subpoena via usps to appear in court as a witness for one of the drivers involved. Must I appear in court? It should also be noted, that I believe, from what I witnessed that the accident is the fault of the driver whom subpoenaed me.
