It could, in the following way: when the other mother gets child support, more money will be taken from your child's father and he will be obligated to pay more per month for, presumably, years to come. He could potentially use that change in circumstances and effective reduction in his income as grounds to petition the court to reduce his obligations to your child, on the basis that something has to give or he will not himself have enough to live on. While it is not certain that the court will grant that reduction (and, as stated, it is not automatic--he has to file for it), it is certainly possible that he will get his obligations reduced.
