Would my leaving to go to school and get an education affect a judge’s decision on how much time my son’s father would get with him?

I’ll soon be graduating high school and wish to attend a college that is about 4 hours away from where the father of my child lives. He is wanting to persue legal action to try to take my son, since I want to leave. Also, how much time do fathers usually get with children if their mothers live a good distance away?

Based upon what you have written your desire to go to school and get an education at college could impact the amount of time the father of your child will have with the minor. The amount of time the absent parent may have with a minor depends upon the circumstances of a given matter and the distance between where each parent resides.
