What to do if I bought a car from a dealer who promised to get me my title in 30 days but 31 have past without any word from him?
Question Details: He promised in the bill of sale to get the title. However, he never anwsers his phone or returns my messages. So am I able to take him to court and, if so, can I do it in my home state or will I have to go to the stae in which I purchased the car?
The best way to try and resolve the issue thatyou have with the car dealer that you purchased the car from is to report him or her to the department of motor vehicles in the state where you purchased the car. The department of motor vehicles in each state regulates and fields consumer complaints with respect to car dealerships.
In the interim I would call and write the dealership asking for the status of title to the car that you purchased. Keep a copy of the letter for future need and reference. If you have to file suit, you will have to do so in the county and state where the car was purchased.
