What to do about an I-539 change of status?

I applied for a changing of status I-539 about 3 months ago and the application is still pending. Can I withdraw from my current school and send to the CIS a different I-20 from a different school in a different state (for the fall semester) or it is impossible and they won’t accept that?

You can try to submit a new I-20 and by showing that you had timely submitted the I-539, it might be accepted.  You need to discuss this with the foreign student advisor at the new school since they are in charge of the I-20 documentation.
