Are both of you living abroad or only you?  And are both of you in agreement to the separation? And did you or your spouse maintain Wyoming as your legal state of residence?  If only you are living abroad or even if both of you are and you maintained Wyoming as your legal state of residence then it is possible for you to submit to their jurisdiction and file or enter in to a legal separation under their laws.  If one of you is not in agreement - and that is the one party that resides in the states - then you could run in to a whole host of problems because of the residency requirements - need to lvie there for x amount of months - which give the court jurisdiction over you to file.  I would speak with an attorney in your home state.  Good luck.
