how can you check if there's a judgment or lien against me?
Question Details: i foreclosed in 2007 and in the process of rebuilding my life. my wife has qualified for a home loan and we are in the process of closing. how can i check for liens or judgments against my name so i will be able to catch anything prior to the Title Search?
A credit check is a good place to start. It should show not just your credit accounts but judgments as well. And there can't be a lien without a judgment.
I would contact one of the 3-national credit agencies or someone in the mortgage or automobile industry and ask them to run your credit. You will then have a report which shows all outstanding debts and Judgments.
