How can I have charges dropped against someone?
Question Details: I had my daughter arrested for unauthourized use of my car. We are currently waiting for a court date but I do not want to proceed with this and would like the charges dropped
The fact is that it is up to the state as to whether or not criminal charges are dropped and not the victim. If there is sufficient evidence to support the charge, then the case will go forward with or without the victim's cooperation. At this point, you should consult directly with a criminal law attorney who may be able to persuade the prosecutor to dismiss the case.
