Do I have to pay back training costs if my employer fired me?
Question Details: Recently my employer fired me. Now I have been informed that I have to pay back the entire cost of my training.
You only have to pay back training costs if:
1) You signed an agreement stating that you would repay the training costs under these circumstances; or
2) You committed fraud in your hiring (such as lying about your education, resume, experience, etc.) so that they only incurred the training costs based on your fraud.
