Can you sue a courthouse if you are injured while completing community service there?
Question Details: I hit my head while on a ladder in the courthouse.
You legally *can* try to sue, but the mere fact that you hit your head on a ladder does not make them liable. A property owner is only liable for personal injureis on their property if they were "at fault" in some way--like one of their employees dropping a ladder on your head; or a defective ladder they used breaking and falling on you. If you simply walked into a ladder, that is your fault, not theirs, and they are not liable.
Also, even if they were liable, unless you incurred significant medical bills or long-lasting injuries, there is no point in suing: you can only get compensation for the actual costs or harm you incurred, and with no serious injury or no large medical bills, you'd get little or no money.
