Can I get a gun license with misdemeanor convictions?
I received a DUI in 2004 for not driving but just having the key in the ignition. I received a misdmeanor on the charge. I received another DUI in 2007 which was also a misdemeanor. Am I eligible to get one?
While a felon cannot lawfully own a firearm a person convicted of most misdemeanors can. However, a record of alcohol abuse can be grounds for ineligibility. Your 2 DUI's may count against you here. Your best bet is to apply for a license and see if this is an issue. If it is, you may have to hire a DUI attorney in Orange County, Florida for help with this.
Note: Another ground for ineligibility is having 2 or more DUI's within the previous 3 years, so for this reason, and the one stated above, do not drink and drive (you shouldn't be doing this anyway).
