Tyoically, the filing for relief under the bankruptcy code terminates any and all pre-petition actions to collect a prefiling debt.  The debt may have to be dealt with, depending upon the amount of equity and the type of bankruotcy fiekld( chap 13 or 7)  Consult with an attorney asap.
