No; being a parent does not automatically make one responsible or liable for an adult child's actions, and similarly, a person is not automatically responsible for the actions of housemates, children or not. Your child is an adult; owns his own car; has his own insurance. You are not responsible or liable when he gets into an accident (uness you contributed to causing it in some way--e.g. gave him alcohalic drinks, to the point he was visibly impaired, before he drove).
