Question Details: If someone owed an amount by a certain date to the courts, what can be done to them if it isn't paid on time? It was the settlement for a criminal case and given 2 months to be paid in full.
1) The person who was supposed to pay could be held in "contempt of court" and jailed for not following the court's order.
2) If this was part of a plea deal, the plea could potentially be voided for noncompliance and the person resentenced.
