Timeline for changing status from H1 to H4?
I am currently residing in USA in H4,I got my H1B approved on 03/05. Due to
unexpected medical reasons I will not be able to work and am planning to stick
with my H4. Within how many days do I have to file for my status change I539?

you should do this as soon as you are able to do so, especially if the h-1b is to take effect immediately or was approved as a change of status. however, if you can do so within the next month it should probably be all right.
