What is the law regarding residence history on an N400?

I am doing my naturalization application by my own and I am little confused about the residence history. I have permanent address which is mailing address but I lived in different places.

As long as you provide all the information to the best of your ability by documenting all the places you have resided, there should not be an issue that you had a different mailing address.  You do have to show that you have been a permanent resident for the past 5 years of which you have resided physically in the US for at least 1/2 of that time.
