Neighbor suing me due to my trees blocking view

I’m in California and my neighbor directly behind wants me to trim my trees because it’s blocking his views. He is on a hill and can look down into my house. My trees were planted 27 years ago and are in my backyard. What California laws are there that are protected and my neighbor can’t due anything about it.

Your neighbor has no right to a view: that is not protected under the law. Since these are your trees, on your property, he can't trim them against your will (and you do not have to trim them if you don't want): if he does anything to your treeds, you could sue him, such as for the cost to plant new mature trees.
