Question Details: I bought some property with a friend. We were supposed to split all costs but they have never paid their share, including the taxes.
The fact is that you do not have sole ownership. Paying for taxes and other expneses of a property does not convey title. To become the soleowner, your friend would have to legally transfer their interest to you via a quitclaim deed. In fact, you may not even be entitled to reimbusement depending n the type of agreemnt that you have.
