If you are an exempt salaried employee, then your employer can schedule you to work as many hours as it chooses. That is unless doing so would violate the terms of a union agreement or employment contract. Additionally, since you are "exempted" from overtime laws, then you are not eligible for OT. The fact is that an employer can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discriminaton).
