If I form an LLC, can the name include the word corporation?
Question Details: For example, if I was to form an LLC called Playbox as an LLC would I be able to name it Playbox Corporation so it would be "Playbox Corporation LLC"?
No, you can't. You are not allowed to mislead or create confusion among people who deal with the business (investors, vendors, contractors, landlords, suppliers, customers, etc.) as to its form or nature. Corporations and LLCs are two different things; it is confusing to be "Playbox Corporation LLC" since that name doesn't tell people if you are a corporation or an LLC.
