You could open another one next door (or anywhere else) if you wanted unless you signed some contract or agreement with the buyer to not do so--in the absence of a contract to the contrary, there are no limits on competiting, including with your old business's buyer. However, since it is legal to contract to limit your right to compete, such as part of a sale of a business, if you did sign anything limiting where or when you can open a competing salon, you have to follow the terms of the agreement you entered into.
