I am in the process of a divorce in texas, can I drop my attorney and continue the divorce process without representation?
I am being charged an obscene amount of lawyer fees for my divorce. I don’t think
I can keep paying the fees to continue the divorce. Can I drop the attorney and
continue the divorce on my own. My wife does not have representation and we
petitioned for the divorce in Texas.

You can fire your attorney and represent yourself. File a substitution of attorney form with the court in which you are substituting yourself in Pro Per as attorney of record. Check your retainer agreement with the former attorney regarding your responsibility for fees up to the date of termination.
