What will happen if I’m leaving my job but accepted a sign on bonus after 6 months of employment with the agreement stated that if I left within 12 months of the bonus pay date I’d have to pay in back within 30 days?

I’m leaving 11 months from that date. Do I have to pay it back?

The fact is that both written and oral agreements are enforceable. The caveat s that in NY the an oral agreement must not be for a term exceeding 1 year.
