The authorized punishments in VA for a Class 1 misdemeanor are confinement in jail for not more than one year and a fine of not more than $2500, either or both.
Since you don't have a prior criminal record, it is unlikely that you will receive a jail sentence.  Most likely, you will have to pay a fine and it will be less than the maximum of $2500.
