Even though there has been no inheritance recieved, how can there be an inheritance fine due?
Question Details: My mother passed away a year ago. She had some property that is being lived in by her daughter, who refuses to move so that the house can be sold and the proceeds divided between several members of family. However, even though we have not been given anything as far as inheritance money, we are being informed that we owe an inheritance tax. Once again we have not gotten any part of our inheritance as of yet. Exactly what are the laws?
I am so sorry for your loss. What needs to be done is that the Personal Representative of your Mother's estate has to evict the daughter and place the house up for sale. There are options of buying eachother out and there may be credits to some of you for maintenance and upkeep depending on the facts. Get help. Good luck.
