Do I have to pay if I was underage and at fault?

When I was 17 I got into a car accident. I started receiving letters stating that I had to pay money. My dad said not to worry about it and I didn’t have to pay. I am 23 now and I’ve been sued. They have also suspended my licence for

this accident. I’ve been ordered to pay over $6,000. Do I have to pay this or should it have been my guardian who has to pay this?

No, now that you are an adult, you can be held legally liable for the consequences of your at-fault accident when you were a minor. Any judgement creditors (e.g. any persons injured or whose cars were damaged by you, or any of their insurers looking to recover the money they paid out) could have gone after your legal guardians at the time if they chose, but could instead hold you personally liable now that you are an adult.
