Civil liability for property damage

My kid broke a friends computer while in the
care of his dad. Dad decided to deduct half of
the compensation provided to the friend’s
mother from my child support check.
I am responsable for damage cause by my child
when he is at his dad’s house?

The parents of a minor child are responsible for damage done by the child. Since there are two living parents, you and your child's father, you are jointly or together responsible for the damage--so you each are responsible for half it's cost.
