Can my boss fire me because his wife is demanding it after she found out that we slept together?
I’ve worked for a man 8 years and always do great work. He is 18 years older than I am.We have become very good friends. We crossed the line just once but his wife read our texts to each other and he confessed. I’m not married. She demanded that he fire me, which he already has. Was this legal?

Unless your termination violated the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, it was legal. The fact is that most work relationships are "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimination). Accordingly, a worker can be fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
