Absent an operating or other agreemnt to the contrary, your interest in the company is your own personal property. Accordingly you can sell or otherwise transfer it as you see fit.

Yes, you can: your shares or interest in the company is your property. Unless there was some operating agreement or other contract prohibiting you from selling them (which there evidently is not), you may freely sell them whenever you want to whomever you want, the same way you can sell anything you own absent an agreement to not do so.
