Can I return this vehicle?

I purchased a vehicle and the bank did not approve the loan because of proof of
insurance. My husband along with myself are on the contract and once I looked
over the contract they listed my husbands insurance from his other car on the
paperwork. I now can not get insurance and the car dealership said I can’t
return the car, but the bank said I can and that the dealership never should have
let me take the car off the lot.

The bank is, unfortunately, wrong. Whether or not you should have been allowed to "take the car off the lot" without insurance in place, once you signed the contract of sale, you were obligated to purchase the car. Your inabiity to insure the car does not void the agreement to buy the car; and no one--including a car dealership--needs to accept the return of something you bought from them unless the terms of sale specifically included some return or cancellation right.
