Question Details: I was married in MS and lived there until 8 months ago. I had to flee from our home due to domestic violence. I have been in FL since and my husband still resides in the home in MS. Am I able to file in MS? I see the laws in that state are much more fair and the process is easier too.
A divorce can be filed in the state of residence of either spouse. Accordingly, you can file in MS since your husband is a legal resident of that state.
