What can I expect in a supervised probation home visit?
I am currently on supervised probation for 12 months, and definitely new to this. I have a 90-96 in place, so if I complete the supervised probation and 24 hours of community service, the charges will be dismissed. What can I expect during my first home visit? Is my probation officer going to tear my home apart? I do not live alone, so is she going to rip through all of the bedrooms, even the ones that are not mine?
Probation officers have a fair amount of discretion with regard to how "actively" they supervise the probation. It is impossible to predict whether the probation officer will simply take a look around, or whether they will engage in a thorough search. In any event, my best advice is to make sure that you are in full compliance with all of your conditions of probation. That way, in the event that the probation officer does conduct a thorough search, you will not jeopardize the resolution of this matter. Good luck.
