I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. If you believe that the state discriminated against you and had no valid basis to detain you at all you may consider filing a civil rights action. this will cost a lot of money and involve a lot of time, but you may have a case depending on the cicumstances to which I would need to know more details. I suggest hiring a lawyer to review the case and determine to what extent there is liability to make the return on investment.
