if you are out on bail and you miss a court date for a misdemeanor that has nothing to do with your bail, is it a bail violation?
Although I do not practice law in the State of Pennsylvania, here are my initial impressions. The bottom line is, that it depends. If you have been charged with a crime due to your failed court date, such as failure to appear, then it most certainly is a new crime. Almost all conditions of bond include not committing any new crimes while out on bond. If, on the other hand, you got lucky and were given a continuance with respect to your missed court date, then there might not be a bail violation. However, the underlying new case may be a bail violation on its own. In any event, it is clear that you need to hire an attorney for these matters. Good luck.
