If I have a misdemeanor on my record, will this prevent me from getting my security clearance and/or my teaching license?

I would double check as to the crime and how it relates to Pennsylvania Crime Code section 9124, which states that neither summary offenses nor expungements can be used in consideration of acceptance or denial of a state license or certificate. That would cover a teaching license. Have yo applied for expungement and are you eligible? Be aware, though, that even with this provision of the law, while it is not legal the the STATE deny a teaching certificate due to a summary offense, it is legal for a SCHOOL DISTRICT to deny employment based upon past citations of any kind. And school districts can access info that others may not be able to. Good luck.
