Can you collect temporary disability and unemployment?
I am collecting unemployment as the result of my job closing and loss of work. I will be needing surgery and out for at least 2 months. Can I collect temporary disability and my unemployment?

If you have an unemployment claim and become disabled during the benefit year, you may be paid disability benefits against that claim. If you do not have an unemployment claim, the filing of a Disability During Unemployment claim will start a benefit year for you. If you are collecting unemployment benefits and become disabled, notify the Division of Unemployment Insurance, immediately (contact the Division of Temporary Disability Insurance, PO Box 387, Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0387, (609) 292-7060 directly).
